Capacitors is a component that used to store electricity and electrical energy (potential energy). A conductor is surrounded by another conductor, or the electric field lines from one conductor are all terminated in the conductor system of another conductor, which is called a capacitor.

Capacitance formula and its relationship with other physical quantities:

UA-UB is the potential difference between the two parallel plates, εr is the relative permittivity, k is the electrostatic force constant, S is the area facing the two plates, and d is the distance between the two plates. 

Noted: The electric field in a parallel plate capacitor is a uniform electric field.

Capacitances are different from capacitors. Capacitance is a basic physical quantity, symbol C, and the unit is F (farad).

General formula C=Q/U, special formula for parallel plate capacitors: electric field strength between plates E=U/d.
