Globalwafers Has Received Sic Orders From Major Manufacturers Such As Stmicroelectronics

GlobalWafers has obtained orders for SiC substrates from European automotive semiconductor manufacturers such as STMicroelectronics and Infineon.

It is reported that GlobalWafers's monthly production capacity of 6-inch SiC substrates is about 2,000 pieces. This year, the monthly production capacity of 6-inch SiC substrates is expected to expand to 5,000 pieces, and it is expected to reach 10,000 pieces/month by the end of next year.

GlobalWafers announced that the company expects to implement a capital expenditure plan with a total amount NT$100 billion (equivalent to US$3.6 billion) in the future to expand 12-inch wafers and SiC wafers (including SiC Epi) in February. The production capacity of compound semiconductors such as GaN on Si will be invested across Asia, Europe and the United States, also include investment strategies to expand new factories and expand existing production capacity.
